As a Visual Artist and
Instructor I am very eclectic. I love learning about new ideas, processes and techniques, cultural differences,
visual histories and then incorporating them with a little twist into my own works.
1979 - 2009 Art instructor for
20 years with Episcopal Day School; art instructor, 3 years with Pensacola Catholic High School; art instructor,
3 years with Escambia County Schools; and instructor, Gulf Breeze pre-k.
1971 - 1979 Undergraduate and graduate studies
in Studio Art BA, Art Education BA, Communication Arts MA, History MA and Psychology MA.
Born at NAS Pensacola to John (Naval pilot) and Louise (musician) Naureckas. Raised around the world thanks to the military. Two tours in Morocco where we traveled extensively to Europe. Lived in many states around the U.S. till father retired to Pensacola.
Most of my undergraduate work was accomplished in Los Angeles, CA and the rest in Pensacola, Florida.
Lived aboard my sailboat for 13 years mainly in and around the Pensacola area.
Enlisted Reserves Petty Officer in U.S. Naval Intelligence for 8 years. Received awards and medals from U.S. Navy in specialized research.
Received awards for art and art education: Cox/Bravo Champion of the Arts Award, many salutation awards for instructor /student achievements and other prize awards.
