The love of the seashore and beaches of Florida is the inspiration for the
watercolor seascapes and florals that Eve creates. She has always been an
outdoor's person, loving all things in nature and wanting to imitate
nature in her drawings and paintings. Having worked in most media,
including acrylic, pencil, pastels, photography, and collages using
natures treasures, she favors watercolor for the wide range of techniques
available. She is fascinated by the versatility of watercolors, although
some think it is a difficult media. She on the other hand finds it very
intriguing. It can be very light and "washy" or dry
and detailed.
Eve considers herself a life long student of art. She studied art in
Oklahoma and is currently studying at the Pensacola Junior College
Downtown Center.
Although originally from Oklahoma, Eve considers Pensacola her home.
She has worked here as an assistant for a botanical illustrator doing
field studies, photography, drawings and watercolor studies of local
flora and fauna.
Eve has participated in outdoor art shows for the past 20 years. During that time she has exhibited photography and collages and has only recently began showing watercolors. She now proudly displays watercolors at the Adams Street Artists Gallery in Seville Square, Pensacola.
As you drive along Lillian Highway adjacent to Perdido Bay, you may see her working in her vintage Navy control tower studio on projects she truly loves.
