Pauleene is originally from Corbin Kentucky, also the home of Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame. She spent many years as an educator, teaching children many things including self esteem and an appreciation for the creative process.

She has studied at the PJC Downtown center for several years, under accomplished instructors including Joyce Bennick and Joan Blackburn. Her work is mainly in watermedia, and she enjoys pouring, formal balance, adding arbitrary shapes and shading, and negative painting techniques to name a few. Her work goes in all directions from from traditional protrait painting, through flowers and botanical still lifes, to collage and abstraction.

She is a frequent participant in portait painting exercises at PJC and the Belmont Center, and enjoys working from live models. She is a member of the Pensacola Museum of Art. Memberships also include Gulf Breeze Arts, where she is often a winner in the member's show held in March of each year in conjunction with the Gulf Breeze Arts Festival. She recently won best in show at the "Spring Fling" sponsored by Framing by Design.
