Cindy Schober

My background is in art and graphic design and I have been photographing seriously since 1993 with a Minolta 9xi, progressing to digital in 2003. What an exciting time to be a photographer! The digital age has opened up possibilities that are endless for experimentation and imagination. I enjoy making my subject extraordinary by using creative lenses, apertures, and filters. When placing part of the subject in focus, the lens can be manipulated to create the illusion of movement and an imaginary place is created.

iPhoneography, taking a photo and processing it on your iPhone or iPad, is also a passion of mine. The camera phone is just another tool for the photographer and needs the creative vision of the artist to shine. The best camera is the one that is with you. Mine is always in my pocket since I never know where I will find inspiration. Camera phones now allow us to have our photos and dark room all in one place, usually our pockets. Being able to process your photos literally right in your own hands is amazing.

My work has been shown in galleries, photography shows, and also published. I am always updating my skills by attending seminars and workshops all over the country with nationally known photographers and artists and exploring new technologies. This is a never ending journey where I am constantly updating my skills and seeing all of the possibilities that lie ahead.
