Jenn HansenI find nothing more satisfying than contributing my art to this world. The most gratifying thing for me is making someone smile, evoking an emotion or taking them to a different place with my art.

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Confucius

I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where I received my bachelor’s degree in both Fine Art and Visual Communications at Ohio Dominican University. I moved to the Dominican Republic for a few years as a graphic designer after college. This was probably the craziest but most liberating move I’ve ever made. I didn’t know anyone there or speak the language. I had to constantly remind myself of a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

Jenn HansenAfter a couple of years, I returned to the states and joined the United States Air Force. I first served in Germany, where I received a Master’s in International Relations. I was able to travel throughout Europe and continue my passion for fine art while employed as a graphic designer. Yes, the Air Force has graphic de signers! J I completed my service in Virginia as the Art Director for The Combat Edge magazine in April of 2008.

Jenn HansenNow I’m living in Gulf Breeze, Florida, with my husband (who serves in the United States Air Force), Persian cat and two Shar Pei puppies. I love to work in watercolor, acrylic or pastels. If I could paint the world in circles or flowers, I’d be one happy woman J To keep up with my short attention span, my style of art is ever-changing. I love painting portraits of animals by adding bold expressive colors to the subject. I am also very fond of impressionistic art which is conveyed through my work. Overall, I’m always honored when someone enjoys my work enough to purchase it and bring it into their home. This is one of the biggest compliments I can get, which I never take for granted.

Jenn HansenPLEASE CONTACT ME ABOUT PET PAINTINGS!

I would love to paint a “Puppy Portrait” for you. I use high-quality acrylic paint on stretched canvas for all of my pet portraits. The edges are painted, which allows them to be hung either framed or unframed. My pet portraits convey a realistic approach while revealing bold dynamic color.

All you need to do is email me a few photos of your dog and I can work from there. My prices vary with the size and number of pets in the painting; however, a typical 16” x 20” painting of a single pet is $200 + $15 for shipping. Let me email you some photos of my recent pet portraits for you to see.
