Blue Morning Gallery Membership Information

Artist Membership

If you are a working artist looking for a gallery to exhibit your work and wish to join a unique community, Blue Morning Gallery invites you to submit your work for consideration. Applicants are considered and reviewed by the gallery’s jury committee. For more information, contact our Membership Coordinator or ask for a Membership Application available at the gallery.

Membership in Blue Morning Gallery is a privilege and as such, comes with certain expectations and responsibilities. This is a great place to sell your work, but members must never forget that we are a coop and expected to keep the gallery running.

Artist Membership Benefits

• Your art will be displayed in a professional setting

• Your art will be promoted via advertisements and news releases for the gallery

• You will be able to interact with other artists and the art-buying public

• Opportunities for additional venues to show your work

• Artist listing on Blue Morning Gallery’s website and Facebook site

• Cash, checks and credit cards accepted for sales

• Blue Morning Gallery takes care of all credit card fees for gallery sales , as well as sales tax reporting to the state of Florida

• Eligibility to be a Featured Artist

• You will have a business address and phone number

Becoming an Artist Member

• Fill out an Artist Membership Application

• Submit five to ten color slides/photographs of your current work and provide one original in the format it would be displayed (i.e. framed/etc.) for gallery viewing. All work must be original. Identify each slide or photograph with your name, the title, medium, and retail price of the work.

• A current resume, three references, and an artist's statement

• A self-addressed, stamped envelope for jury notification and return of slides or photographs. • Submit a $25.00 non-refundable screening fee

• Following preliminary screening, if accepted, you will be contacted regarding an interview and indoctrination with the President, or designated representative.

• Submit a $50.00 one time membership fee.

Artist Membership Requirements

• If invited to join, the artist will submit a $50 membership fee and dues for the first month

• Monthly space dues of $45 for a single space, $85 for a double space

• There will be a 15% commission on sales, dropping to 10% in the future.

• Manage the Gallery for 2 shifts per month (a shift = 3.5 hours)

• Members are expected to be active in one or more committees as needed

• Attend bi-monthly member meetings to keep up-to-date on gallery business

Associate Membership

BMG is expanding the membership categories to include Associate Memberships for artists who would like to be part of the gallery, but don’t have the time to work in a cooperative. Associate Memberships are open to all artists who wish to be a part of Blue Morning Gallery and are subject to a jurying process.

Associate Member Benefits

• The opportunity to exhibit your work in the gallery

• A listing as an Associate Member on Blue Morning Gallery’s website

• The opportunity to become part of the vibrant community of artists in the Pensacola area

• No gallery responsibilities unless you choose to volunteer

• No voting or meeting responsibilities

Becoming an Associate Member

• Fill out an Associate Membership Application

• Submit to our jurying committee color slides/photographs of the work(s) you would like to display in the gallery. All work must be original. Identify each slide or photograph with your name, the title, medium, and retail price of the work.

• Submit a $25.00 non-refundable screening fee

Associate Member Fees

• There is no fee to become an Associate Member

• The cost for exhibiting your work in the gallery as an Associate Member is as follows: 2-D - For each completed, framed work where the longest side is 24 inches or less, including the frame, the cost is $1 per inch of that longest side. Any piece larger than 24 inches on its longest side will be charged at the rate of 3.5 cents per square inch of the entire work, also including the area of the frame. Unframed, matted prints may also be displayed for sale in the appropriate racks/portfolios for a flat fee of $5 each, regardless of size. 3-D – For each piece, the cost is $1 per inch of its longest single measurement.

• This allows you to exhibit your work in the gallery for one month. This fee will be charged each month the Associate Member chooses to exhibit their work.

• There will be a 15% commission on all sales.
